Based
on the parable of the Lost Son. (Luke 15)
I
know I’ve been rebellious
From
my father I did turn
I
drifted in my sin
And
worldly lessons I did learn
But
I came to my senses
I
repent and I’ve returned
Let
me hang out on the fringes
of
the home for which I yearn
I’ve
longed for your return.
My
love for you just fills me with compassion
And
I’ll receive you back
With
great love I call you home
I receive you in the most welcoming fashion.
Though
your brother in this home
I
wasn't willing to let you
just rejoin our close knit family
and
behave as if you’re new
I
wanted to rub in your sin
I
should have seen the holy truth
Should be seeking the return
of
ones who’ll live their lives anew
With
great love I will accept you
As
you come to Jesus now
I
will celebrate new life with halleluiahs
I
will not delve into your past
I
will rejoice and let you come
Seeing
only the new life that He gave to you
